This post comes with a Nerd Alert Level 7. You have been warned.
On computers, “Unix time” refers to the number of seconds since midnight, January 1, 1970. That date (1/1/1970) is referred to as the “epoch,” and many computers (not just unix-based ones) use this method for storing date/time as a number.
You can see the current time right now by going to unixtimestamp.com. As I write this, the time is: 1234569992.
Anyway, a few hours ago, the timestamp was 1234567890. This is extremely cool! It would have been cooler if I had posted this, you know, before it happened, but hey, I had last-minute Valentine’s shopping to do.
Have a good 1234567890 Day!
