Back in July my friend Curt asked me if I’d like to help with something called the 48 Hour Film Project. He and a group from Gateway church in Austin had formed a team, and the goal of the contest is to write, film, and edit a complete short film in 48 hours. Part of […]

My friend Curt is depressingly talented… Okay, it doesn’t actually depress me, it impresses me. Anyway, he wrote a script for a short film and shot it with some friends back in January, and it’s now up on YouTube — check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mI6QDpubTE (That’s him playing the lead character, Tom, by the way.)
You Think THIS is Big?
According to my doctor’s records, at 24 weeks I am nearly 10 pounds lighter than I was at 24 weeks in my last pregnancy. In fact, when I was 18 weeks pregnant with Kaeta, I was already the size I am now. I still fully expect to look and feel like a bloated cow by […]
Our Big Girl
Kaeta is really growing up. This weekend she started sleeping in her “big girl bed.” It’s been tough for her, especially at nap times, but she’s slept through the night in it every night so far. She’s really excited about it, even if the change is a little scary! Click here for photos. And last […]
Video: Bedtime ritual
Nearly every night after bath time, Kaeta wants to say goodnight to her little German doll. But first she wants to name all of the doll’s parts, including the flower on her dress, her hairbows, and of course her eyebrows. Karianne provides the translations. [Download Video, 4.2Mb]
Gonna Be a Great Big Sister
Her new baby doll was her reward for going pee-pee in the potty three times in the first day of having her new potty. And she takes great care of her little baby, including feeding her lots of boo-rahs and juice.
20 Weeks — Halfway There!
Our 20 week sonogram showed that the baby is growing and developing normally. It’s hard to believe that we are halfway through the pregnancy already. Seeing the baby on the monitor, and feeling the little kicks getting stronger and stronger certainly does make it feel more real! Here are some pictures of our little cutie-in-utero: […]
Reading a Pooh Bear Story
Last night when I was putting Kaeta to bed, she insisted that we read a Pooh Bear story. She picked up the book, handed it to me, and looking up at me with her big brown eyes she said, “Pooh Brr!” So we read a Pooh story. And as I proceeded to read her the […]
Mr. Ru and His Many Faces
We had the priveledge of meeting Reuben Ellis Bishop when we visited the Bishops this Saturday. The family is doing well, and little Reuben is super cute. Big Sister Abigail affectionately calls him Ru Ru, so Barry and Karen refer to him formally as Mr. Ru. Also, he makes adorable faces, especially when he yawns.
The Year of the Monkey
This year for Father’s Day, my daughter gave me an amazing gift — a monkey that she painted all by herself! Here he is: Kaeta and Mommy went to a ceramics store here in Pflugerville, and Kaeta picked out the monkey herself. When they sat her down with a plate of paint globs and a […]
