Tuesday evening we went to Target to pick up the Season 3 DVDs of The Office. (That’s right, we bought it on the day it was released. We’re those people.) Anyway, as we were leaving, we noticed a bumper sticker on the car parked next to us that cracked us up. It said:
I’d rather be homebirthing.
Seriously? You’d rather be at home enjoying the unmedicated agonies of labor than spending a leisurely Tuesday afternoon shopping at Target? These are the kind of people who are keeping Austin weird.
I not only bought Season 3 the day it was out, but I had to pay extra for the “Welcome Aboard” special edition because Best Buy was out of the plain vanilla version. (And I don’t have a Target here, *sniff*!) So I shelled out an extra $10 to buy myself a Dundie Award. How very Michael Scott of me, no?
I have heard that the office is really good. We might have to start watching it. Now that we have a DVR, we can watch more shows.
I love unmedicated birth! It is the best part of the whole pregnancy and I am really looking forward to the homebirth of our son. It is definitely better than having to go to Target… Well, almost anything at home is better than having to go to Target. I wonder where they got that bumper sticker, because now I want one! lol
Not me. I’d rather be in a comfortable hospital. Mommy gets better food there and feels like she’s being waited on. And my big sister is pretty noisy at home.
All I’m saying is… unless you’re 9+ months pregnant (the one time when giving birth actually does sound more appealing than most other things), saying you’d rather be giving birth is like saying “I’d rather be shoving watermelons up my nose for no reason.” And I could think of LOTS of things I’d rather be doing.
…Ask me again in a couple months, though. Let’s see if I change my tune!
