If you say the right thing, you might get a medal from the commissioner!  If you say the wrong thing, you might get a chunk of metal.  In your face.<\/p>\n<p>My wife is 37 weeks pregnant, and she&#8217;s kindly put together some lists of things to say or not say to pregnant women.  For your own safety, please, take these to heart.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;font-size:130%;color:blue;\"  >The Blue Wire:<\/span><span style=\"font-size:100%;\"> Things that are (almost) always okay to say to a pregnant woman<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<li>5.  How are you feeling?\n<\/li>\n<li>4.  You have such a cute pregnant belly.\n<\/li>\n<li>3.  You are so tiny!\n<\/li>\n<li>2.  I can&#8217;t believe you are <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">already<\/span> 8 months pregnant! (This only applies when she is actually 8 months pregnant, of course.)\n<\/li>\n<li>1.  You look great\/terrific\/fabulous!\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold;font-size:130%;color:orange;\"  >The Orange Wire: <\/span><span style=\"font-size:100%;\">Things that are <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic;font-size:100%;\" >sometimes<\/span><span style=\"font-size:100%;\"> okay to say to a pregnant woman (proceed with caution!):<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<li>5.  Look at you!  You&#8217;re showing!\n<\/li>\n<li>4.  You have that pregnant glow.\n<\/li>\n<li>3.  The due date will be here before you know it.\n<\/li>\n<li>2.  You look like you&#8217;re ready to pop! or, Any day now, huh? (Only say this if you know she is within a week of the due date or overdue.  Otherwise, just don&#8217;t go there.)\n<\/li>\n<li>1.  You look ready.  (Again, only say this to your friend if you know she is full-term and really ready to have the baby.)\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold;font-size:130%;color:red;\"  >The Red Wire:<\/span><span style=\"font-size:100%;\"> Things you should never, <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic;font-size:100%;\" >ever<\/span><span style=\"font-size:100%;\"> say to a pregnant woman:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<li>5. Do you mean that, or is that just the pregnancy hormones talking?\n<\/li>\n<li>4.  Seriously, what are you going to name the baby?\n<\/li>\n<li>3.  You&#8217;re so HUGE!\n<\/li>\n<li>2.  I can&#8217;t believe you&#8217;re <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">only<\/span> 8 months pregnant!\n<\/li>\n<li>1.
