2010-08-05  The Devil Wears Prada
2010-07-02  Toy Story 3  Really creative! This was Jonah's first movie in a theater, and Kaeta's second. Daniel stayed with Grandma. We had a blast!
2010-06-15  Idiocracy
2010-06-13  Wallace and Gromit: Loaf and Death
2010-06-05  Get Smart  We didn't even finish watching it.
2010-05-28  Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone  fmn. Maybe a little scary, although the kids liked it.
2010-05-21  Fantastic Mr. Fox  fmn.
2010-05-20  Pretty Woman
2010-05-17  The Informant!
2010-05-14  Benji  fmn. It was funny to watch this with Marty -- he was REALLY attentive when the dogs barked.
2010-05-08  The Emporer's New Groove  fmn. I like this movie, but I fell asleep (long week!).
2010-04-17  Bolt
2010-04-12  The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
2010-04-11  Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs  I'm starting to wonder why I keep thinking these Ice Age movies will be funny.
2010-03-26  An American Tail  This was not nearly as good as I remembered it being... from when I was 6. fmn.
2010-03-20  Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs  We loved it! fmn
2010-03-15  Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon
2010-03-08  I.O.U.S.A.
2010-02-26  George of the Jungle  fmn
2010-02-18  Taken  Cliched, emotionally manipulative, and totally awesome.
2010-02-15  Slumdog Millionaire
2010-02-08  Baby Mama
2009-12-15  The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi  We watched these for Family Movie Night sometime in December.
2009-11-14  Star Wars  Family Movie Night. Kaeta loves Chewbacca.
2009-10-28  Dave
2009-10-09  Beethoven
2009-10-02  Robin Hood  The Disney version. I hadn't seen this since I was a kid, but it really held up well.
2009-09-28  Surrogates  Plot. Holes.
2009-09-11  The Time Traveler's Wife
2009-09-06  Meet the Robinsons  Family Movie Night.
2009-08-19  Mighty Aphrodite
2009-08-15  Indian Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull  If you were searching for the worst thing ever, look no further.
2009-07-24  Broadway Danny Rose
2009-07-14  Heroes, Season 1  Really liked the first half of the season or so, but by the end it just didn't make any sense. Not continuing on to Season 2.
2009-07-05  Star Trek  Really, really fun.
2009-06-27  Charlotte's Web (1973)  Family Movie Night
2009-06-20  Finding Nemo  Family Movie Night
2009-06-12  Return of the Jedi
2009-06-05  Annie!  Family Movie Night.

2009-05-01  Star Wars IV: A New Hope
2009-03-04  King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters  Documentary about the world record Donkey Kong score -- surprisingly engrossing!
2009-02-14  Ever After
2009-02-13  Horton Hears a Who!  Family Movie Night #3
2009-01-30  The Secret of NIMH  Family Movie Night. Before the movie started, Kaeta asked, "Does this movie have a dragon?" I said, "It has a cat named dragon." Does she think every movie has a dragon in it?
2009-01-27  O Brother, Where Art Thou  My second viewing, K's first. Great movie!
2009-01-12  The Karate Kid  Wax on. Wax off.
2009-01-10  A Bug's Life  Our first Family Movie Night. We went out for pepperoni rolls at Double Dave's, then all sat together on the futon and watched the movie. Kaeta got to hold the bowl of popcorn in her lap -- lots of fun!
2009-01-03  Life is Beautiful
2008-12-27  Cat Ballou  Watched with Mom and Dad in Angleton one night -- very funny!
2008-12-21  The Family Man  Watched while wrapping Christmas presents.
2008-12-14  Gremlins  In the 24 years since this movie first came out, a lot of advances have been made in special effects. Nuff said.
2008-12-06  Dan in Real Life
2008-12-04  24: Season 1  (TV show) I want to go online and rant about the ending, but the show is from 2001... Anyone who ever cared has probably moved on by now.
2008-10-19  Enchanted  Meh.
2008-10-11  Muppets From Space
2008-09-05  Children of Men  A good opportunity to use the word "suckfest." Interesting story/themes, at least.
2008-08-16  Groundhog Day  Watched it on hulu.com while cleaning up the study. "What if there IS no tomorrow? There wasn't one today!"
2008-08-10  Iron Man  Very fun.
2008-08-05  The Rock  I'd take pleasure in guttin' you, boy!
2008-07-27  Howl's Moving Castle  We loved it!
2008-07-27  The Dark Knight  The Joker was terrifying. I didn't like Batman as much as in the last movie, but he was still ok. Some scenes reminded me of thought experiments from ethics class (e.g., any time someone had to decide who would die). The end was more complex and thought-provoking than a normal superhero movie (kudos, Chris Nolan).
2008-07-06  American Splendor  Loved it.
2008-06-28  Across the Universe  All I knew going in was: it's a musical featuring the music of the Beatles. Big segments of it were like a trippy music video -- very annoying. The music was good, but not good enough to save the movie, in my opinion. User reviews on Metacritic were pretty good (7.4), but I'd give it about a 3.
2008-06-13  Mr. and Mrs. Smith
2008-06-08  Searching for Bobby Fisher
2008-05-26  Juno  Wes Anderson + Napoleon Dynamite + teen pregnancy.
2008-04-19  You've Got Mail  I love hearing the sound of a modem connecting! We like this movie.
2008-04-18  Wallace and Grommit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit  I'm just crackers about cheese!
2008-04-03  LOST (TV)  We watched the entire LOST series (to date), starting with the pilot episode. I don't remember exactly when we finished, but I wanted to put something in here to show why we didn't watch a movie for 2 months. LOST Season 4 picks up on 4/24, and we're ready!
2008-02-24  Shrek the Third  We had very low expectations after Shrek 2, but I think this is my favorite of the three.
2008-02-14  Hitch  Kevin James, you are my dancing hero.
2008-01-25  The Pursuit of Happyness  Really good.
2008-01-22  The Magnificent Seven  "We deal in lead, mister." This movie is awesome.
2008-01-14  High School Musical
2008-01-10  The Lake House  Pretty predictable. I had high hopes, because Keanu Reeves has a history of making good movies that involve time travel. But this was more of a "Bogus Journey" than an "Excellent Adventure."
2008-01-06  The Nativity Story
2008-01-03  Cheaper By the Dozen (1950)  Good, and very true to the book.
2007-12-30  Futurama: Bender's Big Score  They're back, baby!
2007-12-27  Mr. Saturday Night  Billy Crystal plays a comedian who has some success in the 50s (including his own TV show), but he becomes too proud to deal with it when people don't treat him with the utmost respect, so over time his career dwindles. Reminded us a little of Orny Adams (who's featured in the movie Comedian).
2007-12-15  Hot Fuzz  Awesome.
2007-12-01  The rest of Friday Night Lights, Season 1
2007-11-13  Friday Night Lights: Season 1, disc 2  NetFlix
2007-11-05  Friday Night Lights: Season 1, disc 1  NetFlix
2007-11-02  Willow
2007-10-27  The Music Man (1962)  "What do you folks do in this town for fun?" "Mind our business."
2007-10-20  Blades of Glory  Borrowed from Johnathan. "I call top bunk!" "Sorry, I already called it in my head."
2007-10-19  Say Anything
2007-10-10  The Sound of Music  Did you know this movie is 3 hours long?
2007-09-21  Must Love Dogs
2007-09-15  Ocean's 12  Bah. There were too many scenes where some loud music would play, and a lot of action would happen, and someone would look at the camera and kind of smile at you, like "hey, did you see what we just did there?" And the problem was, "No, I did NOT see what you just did there! I have no IDEA what you're doing! Explain yourself!"
2007-09-14  Stardust  Saw it @ Gateway cinema, which smells like feet.
2007-09-09  Babel  Netflix. Reminded us a lot of Crash. So many bad situations, it was stressful to watch, but I can see why it was nominated for Best Picture.
2007-08-31  Capote
2007-08-25  The Notebook
2007-08-22  The 40 Year Old Virgin
2007-08-21  Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
2007-08-19  Chariots of Fire (1981)
2007-08-17  The Holiday
2007-08-15  Bridge to Terabithia
2007-08-13  The Office Series 2 (British version)  Way raunchier than we expected, and just hard to watch sometimes. The characters have no redeeming qualities!
2007-08-11  The Office Series 1 (British version)  We signed up for Netflix on 8/4/07, so I'll start including everything we get from Netflix, even if it's a TV show.
2007-07-26  Facing the Giants  Not predictable at all... At...all.
2007-07-24  One Night with the King
2007-07-15  Music and Lyrics  I liked the music (by Adam Schlessinger) a lot.
2007-07-14  1408
2007-07-12  Casino Royale

2007-06-16  Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
2007-06-08  United 93  Definitely worth watching, but very hard to watch as well.
2007-05-20  Chalk  A locally made mockumentary about teachers -- we loved it!
2007-05-13  The Prestige  d - Worth the second viewing.
2007-05-12  The Prestige  Recommended by Colin, very good!
2007-04-28  Mad Hot Ballroom
2007-04-17  Grindhouse  d - Went with Curt @ the Gateway theater. This was a fun movie (2 movies, really). One thing I noticed: when a movie has a ton of blood and death, at some point it makes me think about my own mortality. This happened near the end of the first movie (Planet Terror).
2007-03-31  The Illusionist
2007-03-30  My Big Fat Greek Wedding
2007-03-23  Stranger than Fiction
2007-02-15  Pride and Prejudice
2007-02-01  Lady in the Water
2007-01-27  Little Miss Sunshine  On Johnathan's recommendation -- good, and provoked some good conversation!
2007-01-06  The Little Mermaid  Gave K the DVD for Christmas
2006-12-23  The Nativity Story  at Lakeline Mall
2006-12-22  The Break Up  Pointless!

2006-09-01  Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest  First movie I ever saw at Alamo Draft House!
2006-08-27  Raising Arizon  Recommended by Curt Hendley on his website, www.thehappyhusband.com
2006-08-05  Field of Dreams
2006-07-29  Crash
2006-07-25  Robots
